James Gunn, filmmaker and producer, now CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, shares some updates on what they're planning for the DC Extended Universe.
A lot of the projects we were already hearing of, like 'Supergirl', 'SGT. Rock' and 'Clayface' things are going smoothly and pre-production is going just fine, with some already casting so filming can begin, while for films like 'The Authority' some processes have caused delay.
But most importantly, what most people want to heart about, are the upcoming titles that will be getting an adaptation, and while some intellectual properties will be getting animation films or TV Shows, Gunn and Safran plan on doing at least 2 live action TV Shows a year, and 2 live action movies for Warner Bros. Pictures.
It is obvious that they are trying to bring value and new stories to these interesting characters we have in the comics, that's why they've been getting directors like Luca Guadagnino, Craig Gillespie and Mike Flanagan to work on these projects, so it is causing conversation that one of the fan favorite teams in the DC Universe got a mention for a live action movie.
James Gunn confirmed that Ana Nogueira, the writer behind 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow', recently turned in a draft for a Teen Titans adaptation as a passion project of hers, and Gunn and Safran are supporting the idea, meaning she will be advancing with the project until is ready for production.
While for films like 'The Batman 2' by Matt Reeves, they don't have a finished script just yet, so production is getting a delay once again.
