Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon A Time In... Hollywood' is getting a sequel film, with David Fincher set to direct Tarantino's screenplay. With the news breaking for something as major as this team up on April 1st, fans of both filmmakers were saying this was all a big prank for April's fools, but apparently it is very much real and happening at Netflix.
After scrapping the production of his supposed last film 'The Movie Critic', Tarantino set on a deal with netflix for a direct to streaming follow up of his Oscar winning western epic, but he is not going to direct since, in his own words, his tenth film as director will be his last, so he just decided to sell the screenplay for other directors to make.
In this case, David Fincher is of course an award winning filmmaker with a great vision and a repertory full of cult classics that people absolutely love, but people are wondering now if he is a good choice for Tarantino's type of wit and comedy, since his films are always full of his personality everywhere you look.
Despite the doubts, it is a really interesting project that the general public will be excited for, especially with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in talks to reprise their roles as the main characters, We'll definitely be hearing more of this as the year goes on, and let's hope that just like the original film 5 years ago, this sets a precedent for up and coming talents, with the first film having Mikey Madison, Austin Butler, Sydney Sweeney, Margaret Qualley and many more who have been dominating the industry ever since.
We'll be reporting any other news about this sequel as they come out.
