Paul Feig is coming back with 'Another Simple Favor' after 7 years with the sequel to his incredibly successful black comedy 'A Simple Favor' starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. With Lionsgate Pictures producing the sequel, but this time instead of a theatrical release, the film will be streaming in Amazon's Prime Video starting this May 1st.
The film will happen 5 years after the events of the original, when Emily (Lively) comes back from prison to invite Stephanie (Kendrick) to her upcoming extravagant and expensive wedding in Italy with a mysterious rich man, asking her to be her maid of honor in an effort to reconnect after their tumultuos and complicated past, with Stephanie accepting the invitation only to find herself in the middle of a terrible scenario when a dead body appears during the celebrations.
The film had a first screening at the SXSW festival 2025, gathering praise from the attendees calling it a very successful thriler and an amazing sequel to the beloved first film, currently holding a 81% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with over 30 reviews.
So if you liked the first movie and wanted to see more of the cast and the director, make sure you add this to your watchlist so you can watch it from the comfort of your couch when it comes out May 1st, and see for yourself how good a black comedy thriller this will be in comparison to other original pieces coming out recently.
