Based on the album of the same name by The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye), 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025.
An epic musical and psychological thriller with trippy aesthetics in the likes of Gaspar Noé, with Trey Edward Shults ('Waves', 'It Comes At Night') directing and editing the film himself, while the writing was a collaboration between Edward shults, Tesfaye and Reza Fahim (the last two of them serving as producers for the film as well).
Since it's directly based on the idea from his original album, Tesfaye is expanding his acting career by starring in this film, his first leading role in a feature film, with Jenna Ortega (also and executive producer) and Barry Keoghan taking on the other two important roles in the film, Anima (Ortega), a mysterious girl coming into Tesfaye's life to make him question everything he thinks he knows and starts a journey of self discovery. And Lee (Keoghan), who is playing Tesfaye's manager.
'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is a really ambitious project from conception, financed by Live Nation Entertainment after Ortega and Keoghan decided to reject other titles (both very popular and highly requested actors at the moment of production) to star in the film, with a budget of $20 million.
Lionsgate is taking care of the distribution, and the movie is going to be hitting theaters this May, on the 16th.
