Production has started for Elegance Bratton's sophomore film 'By Any Means', a crime thriller and historical drama starring Mark Wahlberg ('Ted') and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II ('Watchmen') as the two men in charge to find the ones responsible for killing civil rights leaders.
It's been 3 years since his directorial debut 'The Inspection' for A24, which had an amazing reception from both critics and audiences, and now he's casting award winning actors and actresses for 'By Any Means', from a Black List screenplay by Sascha Penn, with revisions by Theodore Witcher.
Nicole Beharie ('The Morning Show'), Giancarlo Esposito ('CODA'), Josh Lucas ('Yellowstone'), LaChanze ('The Help') and Peabody award winner LisaGay Hamilton ('The Piano Lesson') are some of the actors in this ensemble, which means this high stakes thriller will have a lot of drama and let's hope that this director can truly work his magic and bring the best out of these actors.
At the moment, with production being so early on, we have no idea who will be distributing the film, but Hammerstone Studios, North.Five.Six and Thunder Road are producing the film, currently shooting in Atlanta.
There's not a release date yet, but it's likely that we will be hearing from this movie in the next festival circuit in 2026.
