It's been a while since Captain America: Brave New World was delayed until 2025, and it's also been a while since it was announced that additional photography would be shot. There have been many rumors surrounding the film, including the possibility of Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) joining the project in an undisclosed role. The actor himself confirmed his signing by Marvel Studios, and now it seems to be official that his debut will be as a villain in the fourth Captain America movie.
As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Esposito will have a role in Captain America: Brave New World and it will be as a villain. Unfortunately, they have not revealed his identity or other details. However, thanks to Atlanta Filming, there's a pfoto of Esposito's stunt double, dressed in tactical gear that is already getting a lot of buzz among fans. The set photo isn't the only clue, there's also a drawing, albeit rudimentary, of Esposito's character in full costume, accompanied by interesting details about his role. According to this information, the character will carry three guns, three knives and an axe, all complemented by a black cape with brown lining and, watch out, bluish hair reminiscent of Blade's style. This arsenal and the visual description suggest that Esposito could play a mercenary without superpowers tasked with eliminating Sam Wilson and his allies.
Now, let's remember that Esposito himself said that he would have an appearance in a movie and later on a bigger role in a series. The shooting of the additional photography will last 22 days, and will continue to be in charge of director Julius Onah. Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
