The upcoming Christopher Nolan movie based on the epic Greek poem of the same name, 'The Odyssey', will start production later this month, with a stacked cast full of award winning performers led by Matt Damon as the king of Ithaca, Odysseus.
Nolan, apart from writing and directing, is producing the film alongside his wife, under their production company Syncopy Inc.. After a hit like 'Oppenheimer', making huge numbers and sweeping the awards season, they are making an even higher bet this time with 'The Odyssey', with an alleged budget of $250 Million, and with Universal Pictures already owning the rights to distribute it before filming even begins.
Filming will be starting later in February, first in the UK and Morocco, before moving to Italy on March, and that would leave them with about a year to finish the film, since it already has a release date on July 17, 2026 on IMAX, since the movie will be using a new IMAX technology for the shooting process.
It's no suprise that they are going all out with this one, since they have so many huge names in the cast, they are expecting that the masses will move for this so it can turn a profit. Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong'o, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and Elliot Page are some of the bigger names on it, but the list goes on and on.
With an epic tale about Greek mythology, we can expect all this talented actors going all out on that set.
