Dave Franco and Alison Brie are the stars behind 'Together', the directorial debut of filmmaker Michael Shanks. The film's first screening was back in January at the Sundance Film Festival, immediately guaranteeing a 100% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with over 40 reviews.
After the Sundance premiere, distributors quickly started to show interest in the film, with Searchlight, Amazon and Mubi trying to sign a deal, but Neon ending up the winner at the end, quickly setting a release date for August 1st in the United States.
The details about the plot of 'Together' are really scarce even after Neon's release of the trailer, with it not even having dialogue, but because of the atendees to the first screening and some details out there, the film will follow a couple moving to the countryside, and how they life starts to change when something supernatural starts happening in their house.
Gathering the hints from the trailer and this having the label of "body horror" on top, the bodies of the couple will start growing closer than expected.
If you're a fan of supernatural horror and the horrors of the human flesh and bones, this will be the perfect movie for you if the reviewers are being honest, with most people saying it's a feast from start to finish, with a perfect lenght of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
We're still a couple months away from the film opening in theaters, but let's hope that this gets 'The Substance' treatment and we can keep getting this little original masterpieces every year.
