Apple TV+ has landed a deal for a new drama series by Lucas Hnath, Sam Gold and Sarah Lunnie 'The Dealer' by Media Res Studio, with Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain ('Scenes From A Marriage') and Academy Award nominee Adam Driver ('A Marriage Story') set to star.
The trio have worked together in the theater play 'A Doll's House, Part 2', with Hnath writing and Gold serving as director, while Lunnie is a dramaturg and serves as an advisor for the production, and for 'The Dealer' they will be doing the same thing.
Hnath will be writing the script of this drama and Gold will direct the production, led by Chastain as a high-end gallerist, ambitious and hungry to climb the ladder of the art market while depending on an erratic artist (Driver) that is as talented as he is difficult to work with.
The screenplay it's, according to the pitch, a tale about class, power and seduction, against the backdrop of the world of luxury art in a big city, while feelings are getting in the way of everything. Production will be starting in the second half of the year, and by then we'll be finding out who else is going to be joining the cast in the different recurring roles.
Eventually, of course, streaming on Apple TV+, that has been consistently delivering quality with the productions.
