This past March 21 was the beginning of the theatrical run for 'Bob Trevino Likes It', the comedy drama directorial debut of filmmaker Tracie Laymon, and starring Barbie Ferreira ('Euphoria') and John Leguizamo ('Ice Age').
It's of course a hard weekend to open, with 'Disney's Snow White' premiering the same day, but despite that the film has been getting a lot of great reviews, currently holding a 94% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with over 30 reviews, and getting a A+ by CinemaScore, with it being the only film to do so in all of 2025.
Originally the first screening for 'Bob Trevino Likes It' was back in the 2024 SXSW Festival, were it was a wide favorite between atendees, so it's not a surprise that the general public is saying the same now that is out in theaters almost 1 year after the original release.
The film follows Lily Trevino, a young woman in the middle of an adult crisis that tries to reconnect with her father Bob Trevino by looking for him on Facebook, only to find another man of the same name liking her posts, drawing her attention, with this Bob becoming a new found father figure in her life, guiding her when her biological father couldn't step up to the role.
A heartwarming dramedy made to make your day better and let you leave the theater with a wide smile on your face with two amazing leading performances, so make sure you get your tickets while you can and support this independent film so more original ideas like this can keep coming to life when big studios are failing when it comes to quality.
