Netflix is finally putting a date for the fourth installment of the Fear Street series, 'Fear Street: Prom Queen' is coming to the streaming service this May 23rd, following a brand new set of protagonists and a new story based on the book by R. L. Stine "The Prom Queen".
After releasing the first trilogy with each movie just one week apart of each other, adapted from R. L. Stine's 'Fear Street' book series, and receiving lots of praise for being a refreshing and interesting new take on slashers, the developers immediately started working on a fourth film.
This time, instead of Leigh Janiak as the director and main writer, 'Fear Street: Prom Queen' is a Matt Palmer direction, co-written with Donald McLeary. The story is happening in 1988 as group of aspiring Prom queens and popular girls start mysteriously disappearing before Prom.
If it's anything like the first trilogy, we're up for a blood bath full of occultism, demonic influence and gruesome death scenes, starring India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Ariana Greenblatt and Ella Rubin as our main girls trying to survive the masked killer on the loose.
Not necessary that you watch the first three films before this one, but you definitely should if you are a horror fan and looking for something new to watch on the weekend.
