Henry Fonda is restless to see actual combat during World War II, but is stuck on a cargo ship with a crew of practical jokers who torment James Cagney, their slightly crazy captain.

Cagney, of course, decides to get even. Superb ensemble acting, including Jack Lemmon's Oscar-winning performance as Ensign Pulver, make this movie a much beloved classic.
