Hush Hush

A character-driven drama couched within a murder mystery; Hush Hush follows a group of friends who find themselves at the epicenter of a violent clash in the suburbs of Gurugram.

Ishi, Zaira, Saiba and Dolly seem to lead enviable lives as residents of a posh society, La Opulenza.

However, behind the glorious sheen of their plush apartments and pristine golf courses, lie troubling realities:New Delhi’s most notorious power broker, Ishi Sangamitra (52) is effortlessly ruthless and elegant, but her secretive, risky work has left her in fear for her life, something she hadn't felt until now.

The alpha bridal couture designer Zaira Sheikh (40) is wildly successful, but longs to return to a style that’s more true to herself.

The altruistic mom Saiba Tyagi (42) feels blessed to have a loving husband and children, but she can’t quite shake off the memory of the successful journalistic career she left behind more than a decade ago.

And finally, Dolly Dalal (33), the gentle, beloved daughter-in-law of the affluent Dalal family, seems to have everything one could ask for except love and respect.

Challenging as their lives are sometimes, the friends are able to cope because, at the day’s end, they can count on each other. When Dolly needs courage, her friends help her find it.

When Zaira is burned out, her friends are the first to notice and help her de-stress. Indeed, none of them can do without Ishi’s perceptive, understanding of human nature and New Delhi society.

Together, the friends have managed to build a delicate equilibrium of joy and understanding.

But one fateful night, this equilibrium is irreversibly shattered:During Dolly’s in-laws’ grand anniversary celebration within their society, Zaira, Saiba and Dolly become unlikely partners-in-crime when they witness Ishi being attacked by a Mystery Man, and then kill him in self-defense while trying to protect her.

Already bound by this dark secret, the friends are further shocked to see Ishi frightened rather than relieved by this outcome. The saree-clad, all-knowing pillar of strength who always had answers for them, seems suddenly to be vulnerable and mortally afraid.

Though Saiba wants to go to the cops, she is outvoted by the friends: Zaira is closing the Delhi Fashion Week in ten days, and Dolly can’t afford to risk smearing the Dalal family reputation.

But the cops are the least of Ishi’s concerns. She hints that in killing the Mystery Man, her friends might have placed themselves in greater danger than they can possibly imagine.

She promises to give them all the answers they need the following day. Until then, they must do exactly as she says and pretend that this incident never occurred.

But because of another shocking incident, that day never comes and the friends are left with unanswered questions. What follows is how their safe, privileged world turns dark and dangerous, the secrets they keep become the bond for their survival.
